Hi! We mostly do Bitcoin mining, but with the new ASICs out we can accommodate the KnC Titan.

We are a startup miner colocation facility which charges about 9-12 cents/kwh which covers all your costs.
Our website is http://asicspace.com/
I'd just like to give a shout out to the community here, AMA.

So sick of butt hurt GPU miners who started mining in December 2013, beating a dead horse over ASICs, an open letter to you all:

I know all of you that found crypto last November-December think that all the developers, community, merchants, and miners who have been with this for more than a couple months should hardfork Litecoin to meet your personal financial desires, and correct for your financial mistakes.
I have made many mistakes in crypto too but was never so selfish and arrogant as to assume that coin developers and big serious miners should bail me out by changing their coin.
I learned from those mistakes and moved forward.
Give it a rest please. The developers have stated that the coin will not be forked for all you special butterflies that started running 1-4 cards in December 2013, and are now mad that didn't work out as you dreamed.
No offense, you made very poor choices (I have made many very poor choices in my life, the key is how we handle them).
I had run a 25 card mining farm from March 2013 to December 2013, and then sold all 25 cards on Ebay in late Decembeearly January 2014 at prices in some cases higher than brand new cost.
I also SCREWED UP BIG TIME - I had a chance to buy a lot of Bitcoins at about $12 each when I first ran into this crypto phenomenon and I passed on them! I would be rich if I had the vision at that time to have purchased them. I did not buy any, and yeah, I felt bitter when they hit $1000 each, but I learned from this mistake and made better decisions moving forward with Litecoin. I did not expect Bitcoin to be hardforked for me! This was my personal failure and mine alone. I lay awake at night and think if I had just gone through with it and bought the Bitcoins!
I don't know why KnC gets extreme hate. The Saturn made people ROI in weeks. The people who got the first Avalon miners made fortunes. The other ASIC companies are shadier, they are taking money but have no history of ever delivering anything (cough, Alpha, cough, Flower cough hint hint)!
KnC is the only Scypt ASIC manufacturer other than Gridseed to have delivered a product in the past. So lets see if they get out 300mh/s Titan by the end of Q3 to customers - that is the agreement.
Not to get off topic, but I am sick of hearing the incredible selfishness of those of you that made bad financial decisions in the heat of the moment in late 2013. If you had sat back and learned a little more about what was going on, you probably would not have bought AMD cards at silly prices that I knew would never ROI. Do you think you are the only one who has ever lost money on an investment? Also, please stop propagating the lie that Coblee made Litecoin to be ASIC proof. Coblee never intended that, and has said so years ago and recently.
Instead of whining and being bitter, learn from your experience!
Contribute something positive.
Become a Litecoin merchant, learn coding and help with development, buy some Litecoins and hold them a while, contact existing Bitcoin merchants and ask them to accept Litecoin. This is s list of 1% of the things you could be doing other than whining that would have a positive impact on the community. Join the Litecoin Association at a minimum! Then people would want to listen and help you to focus on your success. There are other ways to earn Litecoins!
Again, some of you made rash financial decsions, but it is not the responsibility of everyone else to tailor this coin to make up for your personal mistakes.
Learn from it, move on, and stop beating a dead horse over an issue that is settled.
I hope you don't make another bad decision and abandon Litecoin out of bitterness, as you will be just doubly bitter when Litecoin continues to succeed and the value of the ecosystem rises, and you realize how much you could have had.
I wish you all wisdom and success but please stop your FUD campaign about ASICs, Litecoin, and the transition that is starting in mining. If you really can't get over your idea that the world should change for you personally, then move on to another coin, and leave us to succeed without your negativity.
signed,
Another newbie who is learning everyday more about crypto, a 15 month Litecoiner, a man passionate about the future of this coin, who is asking here for certain community members to grow up. That may seem harsh but is the truth of life, if you go through your life expecting the world to change to make up for what you dislike, be prepared for a bitter, dissapointed life. There is a lesson here anticipate change and profit from the change, be a part of the change, do not fight it.
If you came with a positive attitude and took responsibility I think a lot more people would try to help you succeed in the future.
My 2 "lites." ;)
Big thank you to the community leaders and developers for the incredible patience shown to new GPU miners who had stars in their eyes. In the end they care about Litecoin, lets help them channel that energy into something positive for the coin.

Beginning of the End.... This coin will soon be controlled by a handful of ASIC manufacturers. And nobody seems to care.

The ASIC manufacturers will soon control this coin, as well as other ALT coins, and here's why.
The barrier for entry to start mining Litecoin is skyrocketing. Once the Titans drop, to stay competitive you will need to purchase $5,000+ worth of mining equipment.
The manufacturers of the ASICS will not have to pay our ridiculous "retail" pricing. They will get everything at cost.
That means their ROI will be much, much easier to achieve.
This wasn't the case with GPUs, if someone wanted to start a huge GPU farm they had to purchase all those GPUs, just like we did.
But when they are the ones manufacturing the ASICS, it's a completely different story... While all of us "suckers" pay $10,000 for 300MH/s of hash power, the manufacturers will only have to pay a fraction of that.
So, right from the beginning we are at a massive disadvantage.
And if you don't think it's going to happen, just look at Bitcoin... KNC has THE biggest mining operation in the world and all of it was built with "at cost" machines.
The landscape for SCRYPT ASICS is much different, there are nearly a dozen manufacturers who will all be coming to market with some variation of a Scrypt Miner, within the next couple of months.
The reason Litecoin was created was to STOP ASICS, but we are now going down a path where it looks like we are actually embracing ASICS.
To me, that just seems wrong.

Future of Scrypt - GPU and ASIC

Hey guys, so I've been reading a bunch of threads about ASICs lately, namely the Titan from KNC and wanted to share my thoughts on pros and cons. This a big wall of text that I really wanted to write despite being sleepy, so if I made any silly mistakes I apologize in advance, but overall I think I've made my point. =)

Let me know what you think, and while I know it's t3h interwebz, let's try to keep it constructive! =D

GPU Pros/Cons:
The biggest pro of GPU mining is that almost everyone owns one and can participate in mining in any capacity, meaning that coin minting stays decentralized and not in the hands of the relatively few that purchased a bunch of big ASICs.
Another great thing is that we know the speed at which GPUs improve over time. We know that neither ATI nor NVidia will come out with a card two quarters from now that will be several hundred times faster than the last generation so we have a kind of stability in the fact that we can predict how much the next gen computing power will increase and last gen hardware will remain relevant.
Finally, GPUs are primarily made for graphics and we can safely assume that neither NVidia nor ATI will be 'testing' every one of their next gen cards for ~6 months and causing difficulty spikes in mining and then selling them to us after it's no longer profitable to keep them.
Bonus: While not likely at the time being, long term high GPU demand may encourage a new GPU player on the market. ATI and NVidia are great but who's to say it's not time for a threesome? =P I believe I recall reading a while back about intel considering entering the GPU market, maybe they'll reconsider...
So if GPUs are so great, why does anyone bother with ASICs? The single, and rather serious, problem with GPUs is the massive power consumption they create. While GPUs will eventually improve in power consumption as the manufacturing process becomes smaller and smaller it's definitely not fast enough.
ASICs pros/cons
Currently the only real pro of ASICs is the low power consumption. You could say better hash rate but so far the only real ASIC we have is the gridseed which provides worse Hash/$ than a video card but amazing Hash/watt.
The first major con (no pun intended =P) is that the rest of the ASICs don't even have so much as a picture of a prototype unit. In the case of the Titan the claims are just plain extraordinary. 250Mh is over 3125 gridseed chips each running at ~80Kh, which is insane considering the price and power consumption of 800-1000 watts. At 3125 chips running at 1.5W would add up 4687.5 Watts for a single unit. At $10k it would mean each chip would cost you $3.2. Gridseeds are roughly just under $30 a chip. That's one hell of a breakthrough they must have had to boast those stats...
Titan aside, what if the other more realistic sounding ASICs really do ship? Here's the big problem: ASIC manufacturers would eventually have near total control of the mining hardware if the $/hash is equal to or greater than GPUs since the low power use will make them more profitable. Why is this worse than ATI/AMD and NVidia having control over 'mining hardware'? Well they're not making mining hardware, they're making graphics cards which they won't hold to mine themselves for who knows how long before dumping them on consumers. The difference is that ASIC companies have just recently popped up all over the place because there's millions to be made by simply promising to eventually deliver a product which is a terrible business practice at best. GPU companies have nothing to gain, their GPUs will sell regardless and we know they exist and don't have to pre-order anything.
The Big Dilemma:
We have to pick either high power consumption of GPUs or being at the mercy of ASIC manufacturers. I believe that we can truly make the transition to ASIC mining for the sake of efficiency, we MUST eliminate the current business practice of pre-order a product with unknown stats other what is promised by the people that want your money. Here's why we will always lose with this practice: ASIC manufacturers have appeared simply because there's much money to be made from mining hardware. If they can make hardware that has very short return on investment why would they sell it? That hardware will be used for mining by them initially while it's most profitable and once they're ready to move on they'll ship the pre-orders. Think about it, right now those that pre-order give these companies the money to manufacture the ASICs, if they manage to build them and the ROI is high why would they ship when they can mine with them for a while, dust them off and then ship?
Another angle to look at this is what if ASICs like the Titan really do get built in the near future? A few hundred of these 250Mh units will completely eliminate GPU mining due to the massive difficulty spike similar to what happened to bitcoin. Now what you have the entire scrypt network controlled by a few hundred. Even if it'll be a few thousand, spread that out across several scrypt coins and something that is meant to be controlled by millions is now in the hands of a few. It's everything scrypt stands against. It was meant to be ASIC-resistant for a reason.
Final thoughts: Now while I highly doubt they'll actually make a 250Mh scrypt ASIC for only $10k at 1000W, the current business practice of funding unknown products has got to go. We can truly make the transition to ASICs when we reach the point where companies only take pre-orders once they have a fully functional prototype to display, not some terrible render of an empty box, and next gen ASICs don't make the last generation completely irrelevant.

FUCKING SCUM ASS PIECES OF SHIT KnCMiner.com tried to swindle customers out of their Free Neptune with a very dirty trick. Forget the law, these fuckers need a serving of raw street justice.

Guys a week ago, I told you I came across a tip letting us know that the Free Second Neptune might be a scam. It was partly right.
Take a look at this POST warning about second neptune and the fake Hash While you wait.
Here is a histroy of these pieces of shit fucking people over, left and right
Post A
Post B
Post C
A few people messaged me stating that this morning KnCMiner sent out an email with the following content to all of their customers:
Dear Customer,
As you are a Neptune customer, you are entitled to take up our Plan B offer to “Hash While You >Wait”, or to convert your Neptune order to a KnC Titan.
To activate your account please click the following URL/Link where you can choose your option >and setup your KnCCloud account.
Your hashing will begin on Monday the 23rd of June from 9am UTC, provided you’ve made that >choice on the Neptune Order Options.
To ensure you receive all the power you've paid for, please ensure that your account is up to date >with your wallet address to receive your Plan B mined Bitcoins.
Hashing will stop as soon as your unit ships out from our factory.
If you have any questions please contact: [email protected]
Thanks KnC Miner Team
Here was their original statement about Hash While you wait
Hash while you wait.
First it’s important to note that we don’t expect to be late at all everything is on track. It’s just always good to have a backup plan. Second our mega-data centre in the north of Sweden is nearing completion so we can give out some more details. All customers of Neptune’s will be able to use completely free of charge our data centre to hash for them at 3TH either on our pool or a pool of their choice while they wait for their product to be shipped. The first customers (batch 1) are expected to be hashing in our data centre in early June and the last customer will hash in our data centre around the last week of June. All the customers will be able to hash in that data centre for as long as we are late in shipping your Neptune product, this service will be provided on a best effort basis. We have a 24/7 operations teams in place with multiple redundant internet and power connections and we will aim to have as close to 0 down time as possible.
Link to the above Statement
Here is their original statement about the free Neptune
Neptune Two For One Program
It has come to our attention that not everyone has been fully informed on our Neptune Two For One program so we'd like to include information on that topic in this newsletter too:
We understand that the math's involved in ASIC product deployment has to make financial sense in an ever-increasing hash rate race. In order to increase value for KnC customers we are adding one extra Neptune miner to each pre-ordered Neptune in batch one and batch two. These bonus machines will be sourced from our batch three production run which is scheduled to ship in August.
If you're a pre-order Neptune batch one or two customer you don't need to take any extra action to receive these additional miners and we are covering all shipping costs as well. You’ll receive info on when and how those bonus miners will be delivered well before the shipment date.
Link to the about statement
However, after all that, today, in their ToS, they had sneaked in a condition that if a customer accepted their offer of "free" Hash While You Wait, you would give up your free Neptune, and any future request for compensation.
Moreover, the ToS state that the service might never even go online or if it does, no guarantee it work properly.
Large number of customers unknowingly agreed to these condition and as a result, lost their 2 for 1 compensation. This was exactly what KnCMiner wanted to happen
Here are links showing customers catching on to it, and calling KnCMiner out on them:
After their shitty trick was out of their box, they changed the page to state that Free Hash While you wait would cost you your Second Neptune.
These mother fuckers are just scum bags, waiting to fuck over as many Joes as possible.
Guys, you need to get this type of information out there, not only to the Bitcoin Community, but others as well, like Litecoin, Dogecoin. etc.
Please, for the love of justice, do not let these things go unheard.

Halvening in 21 days plus a rising hashrate = increase in Doge value

Our hashrate according to Coingecko (http://www.coingecko.com/) is currently at 63.4GH/s.
This has been rising steadily since the start of June, from when it was around 40GH/s (http://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/hashrate-doge.html).
The adoption of asics is mainly what is causing the increase, and although the price is still fairly low in comparison to previous months, the steady hashrate is very welcoming.
With the next halvening in just 3 weeks time (http://www.somegeekintn.com/doge/half.html), the supply of Doge onto the market will be substantially reduced - by half in fact! ;) The main reason that Doge's price is where it is is simply due to the basic laws of supply & demand - there's just too many coins being dumped onto the market and not enough buyers to boost it.
We've expected the past halvenings to have a positive effect on the price but ultimately they haven't - however with the growing trickle of asics onto the market I'm expecting this one to be different. The rewards aren't great for mining most scrypt coins at the moment, yet people are still mining away. The faster asics still haven't touched down, but when they do they could have a very postive effect on the whole of the scrypt scene.
Many people heavily involved in Bitcoin mining that I've spoken to recently expect asics to have a similar impact to what they did for Bit, and I personally feel this to be true. I know that one person with a very large Bitcoin farm is investing a sizeable amount in a Scrypt farm - with a bunch of KNC Titan's currently on order (https://www.kncminer.com/categories/litecoin-mining-hardware) - impressive stuff!
So, will this next halvening be the first to have a real impact on the price?
EDITED: "July" to "June". Doh.

My Experience with Moofarm, Wave 2. Please read, serious

This post was prepared before becoming aware of and reading the Daily Dot article. I am in the US. Moolah_ accepted 2 BTC from me to join Moofarm wave 2. Nobody ever asked where I was from, and I haven't heard much regarding Moofarm wave 2, since. And now I found out there's been 3rd wave of investments? Please read. Since reading the Daily Dot article, I've requested Moolah refund my 2 BTC ASAP. This is the first time I've heard of the /MoolahPIE subreddit (of which I have not been invited to.)
Hello /dogecoin,
I need to get something off of my chest. On April 22, 2014, about a week before the second halvening, I came across a post by Moolah encouraging users to join them in Moofarm, wave 2. With a proposition to "share some horsepower", Moofarm was intended to be an ASIC group buy with a minimum 1 BTC buy-in. Although I had never used Moolah's services before this date, I liked what I saw them doing for the Dogecoin community and decided to join. I promptly logged into Coinbase and bought 2 bitcoins to put towards the Moofarm venture. 2 BTC at the time cost me $1,000.21 USD. Given that the Titan ASIC miners they were purchasing cost about $10,000, I expected approximately 10% share of one of the mining machines. I immediately followed the instructions in their post and contacted [email protected] to indicate I was interested in joining the mining farm.
Alex G. cc'd "Hatz" on my original inquiry of sending 2 BTC to participate, who later responded with a Bitcoin address for me to send my investment. As soon as I completed Coinbase's 4 business day transfer time, I immediately transferred 2 BTC to the address provided. This was April 28, 2014. On April 29, 2014, Hatz confirmed my 2 BTC investment. On May 1, 2014, my 2 BTC investment was moved out of the mentioned address.
On May 3, I sent an email directly to Hatz thanking him for the confirmation and asked for information on Moofarm. Since there was already a wave 1, I expected a web site or something with more info. Maybe a portal to log in? But his response, 4 days later, was that they would be "providing a full update very soon." That was over 2 months ago.
During those 2 months, I decided to open a support ticket at moolah.io because I didn't feel like I was getting the information I desired - and frankly, was starting to think I had been swindled out of 2 BTC ($1k). My first support request at moolah.io was on June 12 (a little over a month after my last contact with Hatz.) I asked if there was any new information and was told that they "had received Titan miners and have orders placed for some KNC units"... it was a busy week, and I was unable to respond to Hatz for about 6 days (Jun 19). I was concerned, because, if they had received Titan miners (that I presumably helped pay for), that I should be seeing some sort of Return on Investment. I doubt they purchased the machines and had them laying around, unused.
A couple days later (Jun 21), I received a message from Hatz indicating they did not have an official progress report, but that they were working on creating the dashboard for the service. He indicated that some of the miners had been received and set up, but many more were on the way. My support request was closed and marked as resolved (imo, this still has not been resolved.) As of today, it's been 16 days since I've last heard from anyone at Moolah.
I'm sure I'm not the only investor wondering what's going on.
I've included screenshots of my Gmail chain with Hatz and a screenshot of the support ticket I opened with Moolah. I've redacted names/emails because I'm not interested in dox'ing anyone.
We're now approaching the third halvening and I still haven't been adequately kept up to date with the progress of Moofarm Wave 2. Although I still believe very strongly in the /dogecoin community, and will continue to support the coin, this episode with Moolah has definitely been a punch to my doge gut.
Thank you for your time, ChuckDiamond

Which ASIC should i get?

Hello guys i have been mining with my GPU for the last 2 months but since ASIC's are here there's too much competition and possible difficulty increase, so it's adapt or die.
So i came to the narrowed down my options to 2:(after tons of research and chats with support)
"Titan" by KnC miner
And
"The war machine" by GAW miners
They are both in the same price range but there's a huge difference in hash rate.
GAW Miners seems to be very professional, have a clean web site plus they have the miners and it would take around a week for my miner to get home they also have support for Zen Miner. BUT the war machine consumes 2000 watts so i would need 2 1200 watts PSU's to power it(that's what support told me)
Price: $5,799.95
Consumption: 2000 watts
Power: 2 1200 watts PSU's
Hash rate: 54 Mh/s (54,000 Kh/s)
Time to ROI at this difficulty: Around 80 days
Daily income as of now: $50 - $60
KnC miner also has a good website but not as clean and good looking as GAW miners. Their Titan miner promisies an astonishing 400 Mh/s at a power consumption of around 1200 watts with 1 PSU. But this is a pre-order, the titan will ship around Q3 2014
Price: $7000
Consumption: Something around 1200 watts
Power: 1 1200 watts PSU
Hash rate: 400 Mh/s (400,000 Kh/s)
Time to ROI at current difficulty: Around 20 days
Daily income as of now: $500 - $600 At first sight the titan seems like the one to choose right away but.
Both of their support seems helpful and friendly
So, can anyone shed some light on me and tell me some reasons to get one over another?
submitted by Fritz125 to dogemining [link] [comments]

Just when you thought KNCMiner couldn't get more filthy or low... they out do themselves.

I bought a miner from the scammers last year, a Neptune.
I fell for the 2 for one 1 offer and didnt take cloud mining as an option, I instead opted for the "bonus machine" but made one good decision, when given the option I opted for the Titan miner as the bonus machine and today I get this message:
Dear SiMadam. We can see from our records that you have selected to > > receive a bonus Titan miner as part of the 2 for 1 offer we > ran last year. Due technical issues in the selection process > the Titan miner was not correctly registered as a choice > and not accounted for. In this case we would like to offer > you the following options instead of receiving the bonus > Titan miner. Option 1: Swap the bonus Titan miner for a free Neptune > miner expected to ship within the next few weeks. Or Option 2: Receive a BTC payment of 3 Bitcoins per bonus > Titan miner you were entitled to. (If you select this option > please provide a BTC wallet address with your confirmation) Please reply to this email to confirm your choice before > the end of business 17:00 CET on Friday 3rd of April.> Thank you. KnCMiner Team.
The low down, sons of vipers and b**hes are trying to screw us over one last time.
The Neptunes are not worth crap, the Titans are still worth something and around 5 times the paltry 3BTC they are offering as "compensation". Had we taken the cloud hashing option months back, we would have made a few times over that 3BTC and KNC has been making money hand over fist but these dirty horrible people want to still cheat us one last time rather than give their suffering customers a breath of fresh air.
How can a company and the people running that company be so horrible??

Whitecoin, Hempcoin attacked exposing Altcoin exchanges to huge risk of bankruptcy

This was originally a comment post elsewhere but with the recent 51% attacks against coins, this needs its own thread.

All proof-of-work (PoW) based crypto currencies (of which Bitcoin is one) are vulnerable to a 51% attack. The first attack that double spends against the exchanges will be devastating to nearly all PoW altcoins. The attack is fairly simple:
1.) Acquire slightly more hashing power than currently is mining the altcoin to be attacked and use it to mine on a private blockchain fork of that coin.
2.) On the public blockchain for that coin, send coins to altcoin exchanges in which there is no identity required.
3.) At those exchanges, use those funds (once confirmed) to buy bitcoins then withdraw them.
4.) When the exchange has sent the bitcoins, the attacker broadcasts the blocks from the private fork. Since that attacker's fork has more hashing capacity than the public blockchain for that altcoin, the attacker's blockchain will "win" (i.e., it has block height greater than that for that coin's public blockchain.)
The result will be that the altcoin exchanges will have a financial debt -- the blockchain reorg (as the result of the attacker's fork being released) has caused the exchange to lose the altcoins received from the attacker (which had a sufficient number of confirmations). Additionally, the exchange no longer has the bitcoins that the attacker bought and subsequently withdrew. This action would likely either put the exchange into technical bankruptcy, or, cause the losses to be born by those holding funds at the exchange. (It may depend on bankruptcy law and/or the exchange's policy as to the exchange's handling for such an incident).
Bitcoin is protected today with SHA 55,474 Th/s. For the attacker wishing to do a 51% attack for the purpose of double spending, the amount of hardware needed would exceed $100M (using KNC Neptunes, of which the supply of anywhere near that capacity doesn't exist today.) There's nowhere near that much value that can be extracted anonymously from the exchanges thus such an attack using Bitcoin is just not economical, nonetheless does there exist some cartel willing to wager the $100+ million to attack Bitcoin this way.
But let's take a look at an altcoin from a recent Coindesk article on altcoins -- Limecoin. Protected with Scrypt 252 Mh/s (per https://www.minep.it/pool/lim/... ), that means an attacker needs just maybe $100K USD worth of GPU-based mining hardware to be able to gain success when attempting a 51% atttack against that coin. There are may individuals mining with that kind of capacity alone -- nonetheless any need for a cartel. Limecoin is a bad example as there's not enough exchanges to where there is a decent double spending potential with this coin so let's pick another. Blackcoin is a proof-of-stake (PoS) coin so it isn't vulnerable to a 51% mining attack.
Let's pick on Potcoin then. With Potcoin having Scrypt 5,100 Mh/s (per http://www.coinwarz.com/network-hashrate-charts/potcoin-network-hashrate-chart ) of mining capacity means only about $2M worth of GPU-based Scrypt mining hardware needs to be directed to a private fork of the Potcoin blockchain. Paying GPU miners for two hours of Scrypt 5,100 Mh/s is all that is needed to start a private fork, transfer Potcoins to those altcoin exchanges that it trades at, convert those altcoins to bitcoins and withdraw, and then finally broadcast the private fork. Minutes later, Cryptsy, Mintpal, SwissCEX will have seen withdrawals of maybe hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of Bitcoins but then the Potcoins that bought those bitcoins will be "gone" (having been double spent) now as well. If proper precautions were taken there would be no way to identify the attacker. [Edit: Potcoin's total capacity has dropped by half since this paragraph was first written, ... making an attack even easier and less costly.]
If Cryptsy, Mintpal, and SwissCEX haven't "temporarily" halted trading as a result, the attacker simply moves on to attack another Scrypt altcoin. Rinse and repeat until every last GPU miner has moved to Litecoin (the only Scrypt altcoin with enough hashing capacity such that a 51% attack is neither profitable nor possible without the participation of tens of millions of dollars worth of mining hardware).
In other words, such a sequence of attacks could obliterate the entire list of Scrypt-based altcoin markets in under a day. Should the altcoin vendor release software to ignore the attacker's chain -- the attacker could simply return to attack again. It's an arms race and as long as proof-of-work still determines the longest chain, the attacker has superior firepower.
A single party with exclusive access to the first Scrypt ASICs could finish off every one of the Scrypt altcoins too. For instance, KNC Miner plans to sell their Scrypt 300 Mh/s Titan miner for $10K. Just 417 of those Titans could successfully 51% Litecoin's 125,000 Mh/s network ( http://www.coinwarz.com/network-hashrate-charts/litecoin-network-hashrate-chart ). That's an investment of about $4M USD, and there's easily $4M worth of value that can be obtained, anonymously, from the altcoin exchanges where Litecoin is traded.

BUT the war machine consumes 2000 watts so i would need 2 1200 watts PSU's to power it(that's what support told me)
KnC miner also has a good website but not as clean and good looking as GAW miners. Their Titan miner promisies an astonishing 400 Mh/s at a power consumption of around 1200 watts with 1 PSU. But this is a pre-order, the titan will ship around Q3 2014
Daily income as of now: $500 - $600
At first sight the titan seems like the one to choose right away but:
Both of their support seems helpful and friendly
So, can anyone shed some light on me and tell me some reasons to get one over another?

KNCminers CEO, Sam Cole dumping Bitcoins worth 466,000USD on various exchanges everyday.

As you all know, KNCminer builds and develops mining rigs used to mine SHA256-coins and Scrypt-coins. So far so good. What you dont know is that they bought an old helicopter-hangar in northern Sweden (5.500 m2) to simply mine Bitcoins with their powerful minings-rigs. "We make three million swedish crones (466,000USD) everyday from mining Bitcoins and selling, says Sam Cole, CEO KNCminer." My theory: KNCMiner have been mining lots of Bitcoins with their powerful rigs, dumping it on the market. When difficulty goes up they ship them to us for 9,995 dollar each. I think they are doing just the same with their new scrypt-rigs, just check litecoin difficulty: https://bitcoinwisdom.com/litecoin/difficulty 80% harder to mine than one month ago, it is so obvious KNCMiner are mining loads of SCRYPT-currencies to dump on us. When difficulty have gone up, they will sell their used rigs to us. http://www.di.se/artikla2014/3/20/drar-in-en-halv-miljard-pa-bitcoin/

Draws in half a billion on bitcoin
Swedish KNC Miner, which sells servers for mining bitcoin, has pulled in more than half a billion in revenue since its launch last summer. This extended operations with a new server for the excavation of another virtual currency, litecoin - a launch that already generated SEK 27 million in revenue.
In mid-February, the Swedish IT company KNC Miner hit the headlines with the news that they would build one of the largest data centers in Constance. The company is therefore the second, after Facebook, Norrbotten who choose to build a giant data center.
An old helicopter hangar at 5,500 square feet is now starting to be filled with KNC Miners specially developed servers that devotes his days to "break" new bitcoin. The virtual currency is produced namely of advanced servers cracking algorithms.
"We are serving more than three million dollars a day to resell the bitcoin we break ourselves," said Sam Cole, founder and vice president of KNC Miner with 80 employees and offices on West Higgins Road in central Stockholm.
Besides producing and selling bitcoin feeds KNC Miner to develop, build and sell specialized servers called bitcoinbrytning. The best seller is called Jupiter, which is now being followed up with twice as powerful server Neptune.
"Since the company was founded in June 2013, we had revenues of $ 78 million (half a billion dollars)," said Sam Cole, with his roots in Britain.
On Wednesday, the company rolled out a new line of servers they call Titan. Unlike the company's other products, the Titan server is not focused on bitcoin, but on the other virtual currencies.
"Titan is our first server that focuses solely on scripts basse conditioned virtual currencies Litecoin" said Sam Cole, referring to the currency that is currently the second most popular after bitcoin.
The new servers have been selling like hot cakes. On one day have KNC Miner received over a thousand orders for Titan servers.
"We have confirmed revenues of $ 4.2 million (27 million)," said Sam Cole.
In June it will be time for KNC Miner to close the books for their first year as a company. Sam Cole does not exclude in the first year will be a billion companies.
"We will have over 100 million dollars in revenue (640 million) for KNC Miner Group in late June, I can say with confidence," he says.
KNC Miner AB is based in Stockholm but has all of its revenues in dollars. Even when the company will charge you in bitcoin is careful to immediately switch the virtual currency to U.S. dollars, according to Sam Cole, who founded the company along with three Swedes.
Behind KNC Miner is two companies: Kennemar and Cole (founded Sam Cole and Andreas Kennemar) and ORSoC (founded by Marcus Erlandsson and Michael Unnebäck). http://www.di.se/artikla2014/3/20/drar-in-en-halv-miljard-pa-bitcoin/

Litecoin Scrypt ASIC Miner List

At present there are seven companies that are promising delivery of litecoin scrypt ASIC miners in mid 2014: Fibonacci, Alpha Technology, Flower Technology, Mining ASICs Technologies B.V., Zeusminer, KnCMiner and Bliss Devices. Gridseed is shipping now but their products cost more per kH/sec than the competiton. ASIC miners for litecoin promise significant advantages in power consumption and hashing power compared to GPU miners.
Do not discount the significant advantage in lower electricity costs promised by litecoin ASIC miners: for many the lower power costs add greatly to the bottom line, and make a miner much easier to live with.
Other than Gridseed, Fibonacci is generally regarded as most likely to ship first judging from posts and history on the Litecoin and Bitcoin forums. The developer has stated Fibonacci expects to be able to sell hosted miners in July 2014 for immediate mining. Any of the miners can be used for all scrypt based coins. This is a significant advantage over bitcoin mining, as your miner can be easily switched to other scrypt coins if they happen to be more profitable than litecoin based on current % profitability shown at CoinChoose.
The least expensive scrypt ASIC miner will be the Fibonacci 8650 kH/sec Recursion miner that will cost $400 paid with bitcoin or $346 paid with litecoin. The miner with the most hashing power will be the Fibonacci Epsilon hashing at 315 mH/sec for $12600. The second most powerful miner is the KnCMiner 250 mH/sec Titan at $9995. Both the Fibonacci and KnCMiner models offer $0.04 per kH/sec hashing power.
Fibonacci has announced that CACHeCoin will also be accepted as payment for their scrypt ASIC miners. We expect CACHeCoin prices to soar once Fibonacci is selling miners, so smart investors will buy CACHeCoin now, then use to buy Fibonacci miners at a discount as CACHeCoin prices rise. At present CACHeCoin can only be bought at the Poloniex exchange (symbol: CACH) by exchanging bitcoin for CACHeCoin.
For perspective, if you built your own 3 video card 2000 kH/sec GPU mining rig you could reasonable expect to pay $1500 for the video cards, power supply, motherboard, and other parts. Two Fibonacci Recursion miners would mine at 17300 kH/sec and cost $700 - $800, half the cost of building your own GPU mining rig while providing 8 times the hashing power. Don't forget power consumption of the Fibonacci miner would only be 10 watts versus 900 watts for the three card GPU rig.
Preorders for the Fibonacci Scrypt ASIC Miners began Monday March 17. There will be a limit of 128 chips per buyer. There is still time to buy CACHeCoin if you want to get the best price, litecoin and bitcoin will also be accepted for payment. Act fast, the preorder should sell out quickly.
KnCMiner has announced their own Titan litecoin miner hashing at 250 mH/sec and costing $9995. KnCMiner promises to ship the Titan Q2/Q3 of 2014. Another brand new company Bliss Devices just announced by website they will be shipping scrypt-N ASIC miners Q4 this year.
Bliss Devices is claiming "Neon is the only hardware miner in the industry able to mine any Scrypt-based currencies. Our machines use configurable parameters, which among other benefits means that you can also use our machines to mine Scrypt-N coins such as Vertcoin, Emucoin, Execoin, and Pandacoin."
Here is a breakdown of cost per kH/sec for the six miners from published specs:
KnCMiner - $0.04 per kH/sec - available Q2/Q3 2014 per website
Fibonacci - $0.04 per kH/sec - available July 2014 per developer
Alpha Technology - $0.10 per kH/sec - available Q2/Q3 2014 per website
Mining ASICs Technologies B.V. - $0.137 per kH/sec - available Q3/Q4 2014 per website
Bliss Devices - $0.18 per kH/sec - available Q4 per website
Flower Technology - $0.19 per kH/sec - available August 2014 per developer
Zeusminer S-Flex 8mH/s - $0.28 per kH/sec - available Q2/Q3 per website
Gridseed - $0.49 per kH/sec - shipping now
If you missed getting in on the ground floor of ASIC mining for bitcoin you may want to buy ASIC miners for litecoin as soon as they are ready to ship. For more information you can visit the Fibonacci SCRYPT ASIC miner or Alpha Technology Litecoin ASIC miner and Flower Technology threads at the Litecoin Forum.
You can also visit the Mining ASICs Technologies B.V. website for more information on this new company and read comments at this thread at the Litecoin Forum.
Group Buys
Another option to consider is to buy a share of a hosted litecoin miner. The most powerful announced litecoin miner is the new KnCMiner Titan 250 mH/sec scrypt ASIC miner for $9995. A trusted member of the Bitcoin Forum, waldohoover, has already setup a group buy for KnCMiner Titans. The group buy will entitle you to 1/20 of mining proceeds from one Titan litecoin miner for only 1.0 bitcoin, see CoiningSolutions.com KnCMiner Titan Shares for details. Shares will sell out quickly so don't delay if interested. Titan #1 and Titan #2 are already sold out but Titan #3 group buy is still open.
The administrator of the Litecoin Forum has just opened a similar group buy for the Titan also with 20 shares available, see Carnth's KNC Titan group buy for details[/url]. If you would like to get in on the group buy just join the Litecoin Forum and send a PM to Carnth.

ROI "at a glance" formula

I often look a prices for miners and wonder "Is that a good price?" and "Will I make an ROI at all?" I've created a simple formula where you can, at a glance, tell if it's a good price or not. It called it the Profit Ratio
Profit Ratio = Price / MH/s
This formula is not meant to be detailed, but rather it gives you a quick yes or no. If it's a yes, you can then put the numbers your ROI calculator. I highly recommend the one one bitcoinwisdom.com With that said, the formula makes some assumptions/estimate: 1. LTC is used as the coin 2. The value of one LTC is around $8 3. It does not take into account pool or power fees. 4. The price is meant to be a final number, it should include shipping, tax power supplies, accessories, etc. 5. It's based off of getting an ROI after 6 months of mining. 6. It takes into account a difficulty increase of 5% 7. If the market becomes volatile, the target profit ratio number will change.
With the market as it stands today, the target Profit Ratio is 22. The lower the number the better.
Example 1: Gridseed Blade $300 / 5.4 MH/s = 55 This means at the current retail price you will never get an ROI with a Gridseed. You would need to get it for $100 (100/5.4 = 18) to get about a $40 ROI in 6 months.
Example 2: KNC Titan Mini $4,000 / 200 = 20 At the current retail price plus shipping and accessories at 6 months you will get an ROI.
With this formula I looked at the major players in the hashing game (GAW, KNC, Zeus, Innosilicon, Hashra and Gridseed) and not a single miner available today yield an ROI in 6 months. Keep in mind, with rising difficultly, the average time a miner will yield ANYTHING of significance is about 9 months.
So what can make money? The Titan and Vaultbreaker, along with their smaller counterparts are the only device that can yield a return. They aren't going to be in our hands until at least October, so who knows where the market will be then. It's rather sad because mining if a fun hobby where you can make money, but in reality the only ones making a profit are the ones selling you the equipment.
In case you are interested, here is how I created my formula, which will allow you to adjust it in the future. 1. Pick at least 5 mining devices of varying hash rates. 2. Go to the bitcoin wisdom lite coin mining calculator. 3. Plug in all of the specs for your miner, but specifically looking at the cost and the hash rate. 4. The fiat doesn't really matter, so you can pick BTC, LTC or USD 5. Switch to the month view so it's easier to read. 6. Keep dropping the price down until you get a positive number in the Return column 7. Enter the price and the hash rate into a spread sheet. 8. Divide the price by the hash rate for all 5 miners and take the average of that value. 9. This will give you your new Target Profit Ratio
